The Greek police are very close to cracking the murder-robbery of a 20-year-old young mother in the Athens suburb of Glyka Nera, police sources said on Thursday. The victim's 32-year-old husband, a pilot, was being flown in to Athens by a police helicopter from the island of Alonissos, where he had attended a memorial service for the slain woman, to give new testimony regarding the case.
Athens-Macedonian News Agency sources in the police force said the husband will be asked to provide clarifications regarding new leads that have come up during the investigation, while it is now considered a matter of time before the case is solved. The same sources said the police are focusing on the removal of a memory card from the surveillance system in the house and the time of death of the victim. Another individual known to the couple has also been called in to testify.
According to the 32-year-old pilot's original testimony to the police, the robbers that killed his wife Caroline Crouch spent a long time in the house in the early hours of May 11. According to police, though, they left no physical trace, nor did they take the couple's mobile phones.
